Well, another storm. Trees down. Power lines down. Power out. Again.

Since the power companies have decided that burying their lines is too costly (although I am convinced that the public would accept even a 50 year project of this sort) what exactly is their Plan B?

I have a thought: design power grids to work like the Internet.

Maybe I am bumping up against the laws of physics here, but the concept is simple: if a main line to a power grid is broken, the power automatically re-routes from another main line or from an adjacent working grid.

Power companies, how about giving it a go? You can hardly do worse than you are doing now.
