In an earlier post, I described my plans to get up earlier, add more to my morning routine and build some new habits.

My goal was to focus on (1) waking earlier; (2) using that morning time to write or exercise.

Another goal was to play more golf. This is more pragmatic than it sounds, because through golf I hoped to create new and deepen existing relationships. And, by playing more, get past a case of golf jitters, which often destroys my already mediocre game.

Here’s the problem: the morning exercise and golf makes me physically tired and I need more sleep.

So I have a Catch-22. If I get up at 5:00 a.m., I am too tired to exercise. If I sleep in there’s no time to write or learn Italian.

Maybe, just maybe, I am trying to do too much. 🙂
