No, this is not political commentary. It is, however, good news for the people of New Jersey and the poor out-of-staters who have to drive here.

Senator James W. Holzapfel of Ocean County has proposed that the Garden State do away with jughandles, the world’s worst traffic management tool that requires motorists to take a right to take a left. Sometimes more than once.

In my view, not only is it inefficient take send a car through an intersection twice (or three times), it is just plain dangerous for those unfamiliar with the traffic pattern.Huzzah for Senator Holzaphel and for common sense!

And I smell opportunity. As the state eliminates jughandles some valuable corner lots will become available.I hope the state has the sense to sell them. We need the money.
