My extended (including boyfriends) family is planning a pre-Halloween outing this Saturday in Sleepy Hollow, New York.

Last year Miss Kelly and her friends stumbled upon The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, where volunteers create sea serpents, dinosaurs, a train and yes, the Headless Horseman Himself using hundreds of carved pumpkins.

Unbeknownst to us, the Blaze event sells out early, so we had to settle for a nice dinner and The Horseman’s Hollow, a haunted “trail” (really an over-sized haunted house) in downtown Sleepy Hollow.

This year we are all set with tickets to both events – it will be a fine, fun-filled evening.

Miss Kelly bought and printed the tickets for the Horseman’s Hollow yesterday. Out of the corner of my ear I heard an exchange about how best to keep the tickets safe. A decision was quickly reached.

The Safest place to keep the tickets is Dad’s Dresser. The reasoning was simple: in Dad’s custody there is no way the tickets will be lost or forgotten.

They get me. They really get me.
